Hello there,

My name is Xinyi He but most people call me Amy. I am from Shanghai, China. At the age of 12, I came to United States. When I first got to the states, I was in Mouth of Wilson, VA at a school called Oak Hill Academy. I spent five years at a school most people have only heard of it because of basketball. No, I am not a basketball fan but I love being able to say "oh, I used to go to high school with some NBA players." After Oak Hill Academy, I went to college at High Point University in North Carolina. While in college, I enjoyed meeting people from all around the world. On May 11, 2019, I graduated from High Point University with a bachelor degree in journalism. Studying journalism in college made me realize how much I love writing and recording videos. During senior year of college, I had the opportunity to make a broadcast video for blacksmiths in the triad area which landed me an award for "Best Broadcast Journalism Package." After college, I decided to take a gap year and traveled to places where I've been dying to go.

During college, I had the honor of being the president of Global Student Association for two years. While being the president, I helped bringing awareness to cultural differences by organizing the international festival, Lunar New Year celebration, and Eid al-Adha celebration. I also had the honor of being a Global Education Mentor where I helped exchange and international students adjust to the new environment and culture. While being with the exchange and international students, I loved learning about different cultures. I loved learning the similarities and differences between each culture. That being the reason, I decided to travel after graduation.

On July 1, 2019, I started my solo trip to Europe. I traveled all around Italy with my two friends from Italy. I had the opportunity to not only see the most popular travel spots but also places that are not so famous. I first went to Padua, Italy where I saw the Scrovegni Chapel. Then my friends took me to Venice. After Venice, I went to a little town by Garda Lake called Salo. Then we did the major tourist spots like Rome, Vatican City, Florence, and Pisa. After traveling to these places, we finally went to the hometown of one of my friends, Seregno. On July 19, we started driving to France. We drove across South of France where I finally got the chance to visit Aix-en-Provence and saw some beautiful lavender fields. After taking a break in Toulouse, we started driving towards Paris. Like most people say, Paris is one of the most romantic places to be. During my trip in Italy and France, not only did I enjoy seeing the major landmarks, I also enjoyed learning the places where my friends grew up.

Traveling is my favorite thing to do and I will probably spend the rest of my life traveling the world. To know more about my travels, go to my blog page and follow me on my journeys. Hope you enjoy the stories!
